The “2022 China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival and The Eighth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations” was held in Nishan, Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, on September 27. Wu Weihua, vice chairman of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the event.

　　As pointed out by Wu Weihua, the Confucian ideology of harmony that encompasses communication & dialogue and inclusiveness & mutual learning has been playing an active role in the continuation and inheritance of Chinese civilization over 5,000 years. It also provides significant implications for the exchange and cooperation between nations worldwide and the mutual learning and connection between civilizations. Communication & dialogue and inclusiveness & mutual learning serve as the most fundamental way to handle the relationships between countries, nations, and civilizations. We should always put peace and development in the first place, follow the general trend of history, dedicate to stabilizing the international order, promote the values shared by mankind, and drive the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

　　The event will last till September 28. More than 200 Chinese and foreign experts and scholars attended the opening ceremony.
